Parish Poll - Questions & Answers

Here are some of the questions and answers we have recieved regarding the Parish Poll

Do electors need voter ID to vote in the parish poll?
 
It has been confirmed voters do not need to bring ID
 
What polling station do electors go to?
 
Electors must go to the polling station they would usually use to vote in an election. You can confirm what polling station at Find your polling station | Where Do I Vote?
 
Who can observe the Parish Poll count?
 
GBC have confirmed the count can be observed by Max Bramer as the proposer of the poll, along with the Clerk and Chairman of Meopham Parish Council. 
 
Will there be postal votes or poll cards?
 
There will not be eithier of these as the legislation governing Parish Polls does not allow for this. 
 
Can the date of the Parish Poll be combined with the general election on 4 July? 
 
Unfortuantely this is not possible, as the legislation for Parish Polls confirm it has to be held within 14-25 working days. Therefore the 20 June is the last possible day for the Parish Poll to be held and it cannot be arranged for any later than this. 
 
Why are the voting times only between 4pm and 9pm?
 
The legislation governing Parish Polls specifies voting can only take place between 4pm and 9pm. It is not within the remit of the Borough Council or Parish Council to amend these times.
