At our Full Council meeting on the 5 Dec 2023, we agreed our budget for the forthcoming 2024-2025 financial year. We have agreed for the forthcoming year to set our precept (the amount taken from council tax) at £196,146.87
For a Band D household, this represents an annual amount of £63.44 which is just £1.22 per week
In agreeing this budget, the Council has made positive commitments on the following (just to list a few!):
- Establishing a Community Toilet Scheme from April 2024 across six venues in the parish, providing residents with free-to-access toilets in partnership with local businesses
- Improved provision for Families and Young People to build upon the success of our Family Fun Days held this year, and to dovetail with this funding to support local health and wellbeing initiatives
- Funding to support KCC Highways in delivering a highways improvement scheme at Camer Parade
- A renewed commitment to supporting local community groups through our Community Grants Scheme
- A professional and dynamic training programme for councillors and staff, to ensure we stay updated with best practice in the Parish Council sector and continue to be an aspirational Council.
- Delivering a new Parish Council website to be the 'central hub' of information within the parish, and to enable us to raise greater awareness of the work of the Parish Council and groups operating within the parish
We understand times our tough for some residents with the cost-of-living crisis and we were mindful of this when setting our budget and precept. We sincerely hope residents are pleased to see some of the commitments we are making in setting this budget.
