Weekly Brief

This week's update on what Parish Councillors and the Council Officers have been working on:

1. A reminder that the Big Conversation event is taking place next Wednesday (8 Nov) between 5pm-8pm at Meopham School. An excellent drop-in event with a number of agencies present for residents to talk to. Thanks must go to Kirsty Gaunt at GBC and our Clerk; Shaun Fishenden for jointly arranging the event.

2. We published details about the Remembrance Service being held. So do come and join us at Meopham Green War Memorial on Sunday 12th November at 3pm for Meopham's Annual Remembrance Service. Everyone is welcome and please note that the Wrotham Road will be closed for the two minute silence taking place. There is free parking at Meopham Secondary School.

3. The Halloween Family Fun Day was held on Monday 30 October, the event was funded by the Parish Council and was well-attended by families. The Chairman of Council and our Clerk both went along to the event and met with the Community Programme Manager at Swale Leisure. A huge thanks to the team at the Leisure Centre for putting on such a great event for us.

4. Officers contacted KCC Highways about the poor standard of work at the new zebra crossing by Neville Parade. They have confirmed the contractors will be rectifying the work at no cost to KCC Highways. We hope there will be a resolution to this promptly and the crossing will soon be fully functional.
