Parish Poll - Pitfield Green Toilets

Following the Annual Parish Meeting held last night, we are obliged to report a Parish Poll was requested in regards to the closure of Pitfield Green toilets.

The poll was proposed by elector Mr Max Bramer, and there were ten electors in support of the demand for a parish poll. This complies with the process set out under the Parish and Community Meeting (Polls) Rules 1987.

In accordance with the legislation, we are now duty-bound to notify Gravesham Borough Council electoral services team who will arrange the parish poll. It will be held within 14-25 working days of the request. Under the legislation, the result of the Parish Poll is not binding on the Parish Council.
We are awaiting the full breakdown of costs that will have to be paid by the Parish Council. It is regrettable that taxpayers money is being spent on this.
Further information about the Parish Poll will be published as soon as we recieve updates from Gravesham Borough Council.
